Quality Service
Quality service is equivalent to safety. You want to be sure to check to see if things are in place that should be in place in case of an emergency. Some things to look for would be the emergency plans, fire plans, and the drop off and pick up routines. A free access policy allows the parent to come in at any time to check on their child. As a parent you have to be the one that pays attention to the environment that your child is being left in. Ask yourself, “Is it welcoming?, Does my child seem happy there?, and what extra curricular things is this facility offering that interests my family?”
Cleanliness
A clean environment helps the smell of the facility. This, too, can be a safety issue. You want to make sure that diapers are exposed of properly. The kitchen should be clean. The classrooms should not be hazardous and they should be childproofed.
Scheduling
Having a schedule is important because it gives the entire facility a structure and keeps the kids on task from day to day. It helps to staff to be prepared for the day. The schedule should be action packed and have the right amount of breaks. You want the child to be challenged so that they become more independent.
